University of Bradford Overview

The University of Bradford is located in West Yorkshire, in the north of England. Formed from a technical college in 1966, there are three campuses: the main campus, the School of Health and the School of Management. 11,000 students are currently enrolled at the University from over 150 countries, and Bradford is known as one of the least expensive student cities in the UK.

Many students have the opportunity to study in Bradford’s numerous partner institutions around the world, and the University is a member of the Northern Consortium which focuses on providing courses for international students studying abroad. Locations include India, Poland and Hong Kong.

Its School of Management is consistently ranked highly for management masters degrees, while the University was the first in the UK to establish a Department of Peace Studies in 1973. Bradford is currently ranked first in the world for the subject, and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014. Bradford is currently undergoing a £120 million redevelopment programme to improve both its main campus and accommodation. The Green, a new accommodation block, is the most sustainable building in the world.

University of Bradford Services for International Students

18% of the University of Bradford’s students are from outside the UK, from over 100 different countries. Throughout most of September, the International Office runs an orientation programme until the beginning of term, supported by current students, as well as an International Student Information Point for more personalised advice in the first few days. The Office also has an airport pickup service and each department organises induction sessions for their subjects.
