Overview

Brunel University London is located in Uxbridge, north-west London, and is one of the UK’s most ambitious, forward-looking universities, with a strong focus on employability after graduation. Currently home to just under 15,000 students from over 100 countries, Brunel graduates currently benefit from the 13th highest starting salaries upon graduation in the UK.

Almost all courses are available as a four year ‘sandwich’, with one year’s work placement before graduation, while over £400 million worth of investment has recently been completed to create an exciting state-of-the-art campus providing students with world class teaching, social and sport facilities.

The campus is within walking distance of the London underground, just a short 20-minute ride into the city. An Airport Welcome Service at Heathrow will help students find Brunel at the start of the academic year.

Services for International Students

Brunel University London offers a range of services for international students that aim to assist them with their academic, personal and social life whilst at the University. Brunel International is a key contact point for all international students, with over 40 members of staff in various departments able to supplement general academic support.

For new students, Brunel runs a popular 3-day orientation course which is recommended by 95 per cent of past participants. Student Services also organises regular trips, events and workshops for students, while a personal tutor provides personal support. If you wish to travel to the UK with your family, the University run a special family and partners club.

A recent survey placed Brunel graduates 13th in the UK for average starting salaries, with the figure of £22,000 being almost £3,000 above the national average. The University also excels in student satisfaction across the subjects of physiotherapy, politics and history.

Brunel University recently climbed to 33rd among UK universities for research power. 54% of research submitted to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework was classed as ‘world leading’, while Engineering and Design and Sports Sciences performed very well nationally.

Accommodation

Brunel University London offers accommodation both on and off campus. Housing often compares favourably to other London prices, and the University Housing Office offers support for all students. Over 4,500 rooms are available on campus, with en-suite facilities standard in the 34 halls of residence. Bedding is also provided and linen is changed once a week.

The University has invested over £400 million on halls of residence and campus infrastructure in the last decade and in the recent 2012 Olympic Games, South Korean Olympic and Canadian Paralympic teams stayed at Brunel accommodation.

Location

Brunel University London's campus is based in Uxbridge on the western edge of London. Uxbridge is in a prime transport location, with a main motorway close, while direct transport links are available to Heathrow airport. Central London is also just a short ride away on the underground metro.

As a campus university, Brunel can satisfy most needs on-site, without the need to journey in and around London though. On campus, a student is never more than ten minutes’ walk away from study facilities, halls of residence or the library. There is a bank and an insurance office, a pharmacy, and two general shops where you can buy groceries, international newspapers and stationery.
